In parallel, as a freelance artist, he developed his own work techniques and found his own artistic style. In 2004, he moved to Paris on behalf of Renault and designed as part of the development team, including the electric car TWIZY. However, his desire for independence grew and he returned to Barcelona in 2007, opening his own studio. Since then, he works mostly as a freelance artist and lecturer at the Design School in Barcelona. The artist lives and works in Spain and in Germany.

His work focuses on automobiles and their great design legends. In developing his concise style, Haub does not focus on his roots as a car designer, but follows his ideas to great photography artists. He uses fluorescent colors in his work and paints the surfaces with varnish to create a high-gloss finish.
In 2008, the series “Racing Legends” begins to become his main theme. Influenced by graffiti artists and pop art portraits, he stages his work.

The works of Markus Haub are shown with great success at exhibitions and art fairs in Spain, France, Germany, Ireland, England and America / New York.
