PINK MOMENTS - PETER KOHL

Solo exhibition

Exhibition dates: 13.09.2025 - 30.09.2025 | Gallery talk: 16.09.2025 from 3pm - 4pm

The HMH Gallery presents Pink Moments, a solo exhibition by Austrian artist Peter Kohl, which will be on display from 13 to 30 September 2025.
Kohl, born in Klagenfurt in 1971, lives and works in Ebenthal, Carinthia. His works are characterised by a mixture of childlike drawings and profound, often grotesque narratives.
A central work in the exhibition is The Plush Observer, which not only adorns the cover of the exhibition flyer, but is also highlighted in the current special edition of Stayinart – the Artist's Choice Edition. In this edition, presented by Kohl as guest editor, sketchbook, studio, gallery and living space merge into an artistic total work of art.
The exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves in Kohl's fantastical worlds, in which animals and humans interact in surreal scenarios. With titles such as ‘The Plush Observer’ and ‘The Naked Pig King,’ a cosmos unfolds that combines humour, irony, and a certain grotesqueness. Kohl's works are not only visual impressions, but also tell stories that provoke thought and blur the boundaries between fantasy and reality.
The HMH Gallery cordially invites you to a gallery talk on Tuesday, 16 September 2025, 3–4 p.m.
Take this opportunity to talk to curator Andreas Streicher about Kohl's works, inspirations and the significance of the colour pink in his work.
