POSITIONS – 47 | Spring Fever

Group Show | Ariane Koch, Lilli Hill, Alexandra Khuen-Belasi, Gerd Kanz, Joan Costa, Judith Sturm, Markus Tollmann

Exhibition duration: 12.03.–31.03.2026

The exhibition “Spring Fever” brings together seven contemporary positions in Gallery I, exploring the blossoming, vitality, and energy of spring across a variety of materials and artistic expressions.

Due to the large number of participating artists, this edition of Position 47 has been extended by three weeks, departing from its usual weekly format, allowing visitors more time to experience each work in depth.

At the center stands the monumental ceramic vase by Alexandra Kühn-Belasi, adorned with an imaginative, exuberant fantasy flower. It serves as the energetic nucleus of the show: a symbol of growth, power, and the seductive dynamism of spring.

Ariane Koch contrasts the organic presence of the vase with her concrete stripe paintings in bold, joyful colors, while Lilli Hill presents erotic figuration that conveys the season’s vitality and sensuality. Gerd Kanz introduces light, airy painting that evokes movement and ease, while Joan Costa allows the natural structures of Mallorcan seagrass to sprout—a poetic reflection of spring in the local context.

The clear blue monochromatic works by Judith Sturm create contemplative resting points, while Markus Tollmann’s large, luminous split infuses the exhibition space with physical and emotional tension.

“Spring Fever” is more than a seasonal reflection: the exhibition unites conceptual rigor, tactile materiality, and expressive color into a multisensory experience, in which each work makes the breath and vitality of spring palpable.
