In The Path of Sacrifice, Enrique Fuentes explores the timeless narratives of heroic suffering and spiritual redemption. At the heart of the exhibition stands a powerful large-format painting that revisits the myth of Siegfried and the Nibelungen — a tale of courage, betrayal, and tragic destiny. Through sweeping gestures and visceral textures, the artist evokes the raw emotional intensity of a legendary hero’s downfall.

In contrast, the smaller works on the central table draw upon Christian iconography, referencing the Cross and the Stations of the Passion. These pieces reflect a quieter, meditative form of suffering — one that speaks of humility, devotion, and transcendence through pain. The works are from the series "Una Pintura para leer"

Together, all the works form a dialogue between myth and faith, between the epic and the intimate. They invite the viewer to contemplate the universal nature of sacrifice — not only as an act of loss, but also as a path to meaning, transformation, and, ultimately, grace.
