In Father and Son, two generations of the Tollmann dynasty engage in a fascinating dialogue: Günter Tollmann (1926–1990), pioneer of kinetic sculpture and important object artist, demonstrates the balance of form, movement, and material with one of his characteristic works. His son, Markus Tollmann (*1963), an established painter, draughtsman and gallery owner, contrasts one of his sculptural objects – an expression of his intense, colourful style, in which he combines heritage and innovation.

Günter Tollmann studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and was a co-founder of the B1 artists' group, known for objects and sculptural works that often focus on movement, architecture, and landscape.

Markus Tollmann grew up in a creative environment, was encouraged from an early age, and today combines painting and object art with international appeal – his works have been exhibited in New York and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, among other places.

This exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience the work and inspiration of father and son side by side: where their formal language and concepts overlap, where they differ—and what emerges from this.
