POSITIONS – 48

The exhibition “Positions 48 – Reliefs” brings together two contemporary artists whose work focuses on materiality and surface texture.

Gunda Jasdorff creates delicate, white reliefs in which folded fabrics or layers of pigment evoke landscape and earth structures. Her works explore the boundary between painting and relief, generating a meditative perception of space and form.

Jodd von Schaffstein works with sand, stone and fragments of masonry, which become fragmentary landscapes and structural forms. His works reveal the transformative power of materials and the tension between natural processes and human intervention.

In the exhibition, both approaches enter into a dialogue about structure, form and the sensory perception of matter, with the expressive power of the material and the poetics of the surfaces taking centre stage.
