Contemporary art | Informal realism

Judith Sturm was born in 1973 in Saarlouis, southwestern Germany on the border with France and Luxembourg. She lives and works on Mallorca / Spain.

Two stays in the USA, in 2006 and 2008 in the printing workshop of the well-known master printer Erika Greenberg-Schneider in Tampa/Florida, have had a decisive influence on Judith Sturm's graphic work. In 2005, the master student of Prof. Baumgarten developed her own style of painting:

Walk by the sea

About Walk by the sea

Motifs as playful, light and floating as a bright summer's day by the sea.

The "Walk by the sea" series includes a total of 26 works on canvas and paper. She is inspired by many walks on the beach in the evening sun of Mallorca. Clear turquoise blue meets gentle nuances of sand, sun and water worlds and enchants the senses. With a sure hand, Judith Sturm does not lack her informal realism in this series either and uses salt from the Es Trenc salt pans for her painting technique. The works are dynamic and lively. They are just as suitable as individual work as in a group. Judith Sturm learned her own handwriting in printmaking from master printer Erika Greenberg Schneider in the USA, where she has already been exhibited twice at the Bridge Art Fair.

Judith Sturm used the printing techniques of linocut and monotype and also processed the acid-resistant copperplate printing paper in her distinctive mineral technique and gold leaf.
Every work is unique.
